Wholesale freesia tubers

We sell fresh freesia tubers in bulk quantities against very competitive prices; directly from our growers! View our current offer in the webshop and order full crates or individual pieces as desired. Filter by category, colour, group, flowering period, bulb size for a specified overview.

Both companies and private individuals can easily order in our webshop. Because we are a wholesaler, we apply a minimum order value of €250,00. Are you interested in smaller quantities or can you not reach the minimum order amount? Then we would like to refer you to www.bulbi.nl. BULBi is part of Green Garden and offers pre-packed flower bulbs in different packages.

Planting freesia tubers

The freesia is a tuberous plant. After planting, one or more new shoots grow from the tuber, which initially sprout leaves. Freesia tubers can be planted after the frost, preferably in airy, well-drained soil. Freesia tubers love sunshine, so plant the Freesias where they will receive full sun throughout the day. Provided they are well-covered, Freesias are reasonably hardy. You can also dig up the bulbs after the first night frost and overwinter them frost-free.

Order freesia tubers online

Freesia tubers are available from January. Of course you can already start landscaping and decorating your surroundings before the season starts. It is therefore possible to order online before the season starts, to be sure of your preferred choice of Freesia tubers. The freesia tubers are delivered at the right planting time! After you have placed your order, you will automatically receive an e-mail with an order confirmation. If you want more information about ordering, you can visit the page 'how to order'.

As soon as the Freesia tubers are available, they will be delivered at your doorstep, or you can collect the order by appointment at Green Garden Flowerbulbs in Hillegom. If you would like more information about shipping, please visit the page 'shipping and delivery'.

Different kinds of freesias

We offer a wide range of freesias in different colours. There are single-flowered and double-flowered freesias. To make your choice you can use the filter; choose for example for the tuber size, flowering period, colour, group or height.

History of the freesia

The freesia belongs to the Iridaceae family, together with other well-known bulbous plants such as iris and gladiolus. The freesia originates from South Africa and consists of about 20 different species. Botanist Ecklon named the plant after the German physician Freese in the early 19th century. The first breeding activities were started at the end of the 19th century in various European countries and continued throughout the first half of the 20th century, when breeding activities were developed on a larger and more professional scale and ever better colours and quality were obtained.
