Descripción
Alcea Rosea Mix, better known as the hollyhock, is a classic and much-loved garden plant that adds height and colour to any garden. This mix of hollyhocks offers a beautiful array of flowers in various shades, ranging from soft pink and white to deep red and yellow. They are ideal for creating a cottage garden atmosphere or as a background plant in borders.
Characteristics:
Flowers: Alcea Rosea Mix produces large, single or double flowers that bloom in summer, usually from June to September.
Growth: Hollyhocks are biennials, meaning they usually form leaves in the first year and flower in the second year. Full establishment takes about 2 to 3 years, after which the plant will flower beautifully every year.
Care:
Position: Plant the Alcea Rosea in a sunny spot. They like full sun and thrive best in places with lots of direct sunlight.
Soil: Provide well-drained, fertile soil. They tolerate poor soil, but flower best in nutrient-rich soil.
Water: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but make sure the soil does not get too wet.
Support: Because of their height, hollyhocks sometimes need support to prevent them from falling over, especially in windy conditions.
Planting instructions:
Soak Alcea roots in water for 3-6 hours before planting. Plant them lengthwise, shallowly (1-2 cm deep).
This charming hollyhock also attracts bees and butterflies, promoting biodiversity in your garden.
