Planting hyacinthoides flower bulbs
Plant the hyacinthoides bulbs in the autumn. Plant the bulbs 3 times as deep as the bulb is tall and make sure the soil is well drained. Hyacinthoides grow well in semi-shade or shade, for example under trees and in woody areas.

Different types of hyacinthoides
We offer a wide range of hyacinthoides, such as Hyacinthoides non-scripta and Hyacinthoides hispanica. To make your choice, you can use the filter; for example, choose the bulb size, flowering period, colour, group or height. Hyacinthoides bulbs can be planted manually in the ground. But in case of mass planting you can also opt for mechanical planting.
History of hyacinthoides
Hyacinthoides was already described by Carl Linnaeus who gave it the generic name non-scripta because unlike hyacinths, this plant did not have any white marks in the flower petals. Linnaeus classed it with the hyacinths (Hyacinthus). Later, the plant was classified in the genus Scilla. Now the plant is classified in the genus Hyacinthoides. The plant originates from Western Europe. The area of distribution is the north of the Iberian Peninsula, the British Isles, western France and western Belgium. Elsewhere, such as in the western Netherlands and north-western Germany, the plant is probably naturalised. Wild hyacinth is also known in England as Bluebell.
