The ipheion bulbs are available from August to December (increasing to January as long as stocks last). Of course, you can get busy with landscaping and beautifying your surroundings before the season starts. It is therefore possible to order flower bulbs online before the season begins, to be sure of your preferred choice of ipheion bulbs. ipheion bulbs are delivered at the right planting time! Planting ipheion flower bulbs

Plant the ipheion flower bulbs in the autumn. Plant the bulbs 3 times as deep as the bulb is tall and make sure the soil is well drained. The star-shaped flowers of the Old-fashioned grow well in semi-shade or shade.

Different kinds of ipheion

We offer a wide ipheion assortment. To make your choice you can use the filter; for example choose the bulb size, flowering period, colour, group or height. Ipheion bulbs can be planted manually in the ground. But for mass planting you can also choose mechanical planting.

History of the ipheion

Ipheion originates from Southern Brazil, mainly Argentina and Uruguay and is closely related to the Triteleia from South America. The difference is that ipheion has a bulb and the triteleia has a tuber. In 1832, ipheion was introduced by Scottish plant collector James Tweedle. The name probably derives from the Greek iphyon, name of a lavender or from ipheios, strong, mighty.
