Planting scilla flower bulbs
Scilla are spring-flowering bulbs and can be planted from October to December. If you plant the scilla bulbs in the autumn, you will enjoy the beautifully coloured flowers in the spring, in March, April and May. The scilla feels at home almost anywhere, but a well-drained soil is ideal. Scillas multiply well and they give off a soft scent, which deters mice.
Ordering scilla bulbs online
Scilla bulbs are available from August to December (increasing to January while stocks last). Of course, you can get involved in landscaping and beautifying your surroundings before the season begins. It is therefore possible to order flower bulbs online before the season starts, to ensure you of your preferred choice of scilla bulbs. The scilla bulbs are delivered at the right planting time! Different types of scilla
We offer a wide range of scilla. Such as scilla bifolia, scilla forbesii, scilla peruviana and scilla siberica with their bright blue flowers. To make your choice, use the filter; choose for example the bulb size, flowering period, colour, group or height. Scilla bulbs can be planted in the ground by hand. But for mass planting you can also choose mechanical planting.
History of scilla
Scilla appears in Greek mythology. Scylla was born as a beautiful nymph. The sea god Glaucus fell in love with her and asked the sorceress Circe for advice. Circe herself fell in love with Glaucus and turned her rival Scylla into a monster. Most species of scilla are found in North Africa through Spain to the Caucasus where it grows on higher ground, a few on sea level. There are also some species that occur in tropical Africa, India and South Africa.
